Did you know that special options exist for extra quiet motorized roller shades?  As a dealer of these products, we are always shown the latest and greatest ideas which spring forth from the brows of window covering manufacturers, but few in the general consumer public are aware of this option.

So, in a few paragraphs allow us to enlighten you as to this option.

Quiet motors use noise reduction technology.  Now, to be sure your standard motorized roller, once activated might make a slight click to start and then a low level hum can be heard during operation.  Believe us when we say, nothing obnoxious here as relates to noise.  In fact, to some it is sort of a cool sight and sound.

Standard 110v roller shade motors operate around 52 decibels and are acceptable in many applications. Quiet Motors operate at approximately 44 dB from a distance of 3 feet away. This represents a 50% reduction in the noise produced by a standard motor. In addition the distinctive click heard when a standard motor starts up is also eliminated.

Quiet motors are generally considered for rooms where motor noise could be an issue. Bedrooms and rooms with a lot of motors are most often considered as applications for the noise reduction technology built into the motor and the shade hardware.

Here is a little project we just completed for a Noodles and Co. in Phoenix.  We covered 15ea windows which faced the south and west.  These pictures give you a really good feel for how solar roller shades can knock down the heat and glare while leaving you an open view.

The restaurant was still in the construction phase so the finishes are not yet compete, but you can see a very nice dining atmosphere coming together.
